Skeletons by Drak-Joen
An illustration I made for an article about the research on skeletons from the middle ages in the swedish town of Västerås. You can read the article in the next issue of Gaudeamus, the student paper at Stockholm university.
The shining house on the hill by Drak-Joen
The shining house on the hill
An illustration for the latest edition of Gaudeamus, the student paper at Stockholm university. This one was for an article about the area Djursholm, just north of Stockholm. The metaphor of Djursholm as a "shining city on a hill" was used in the article, and there you go....

Feeling confident with the swedish language? Then read it here!…
Finding your place by Drak-Joen
Finding your place
My illustration for an article in this autumn's first issue of Gaudeamus, the student paper at Stockholm university. The article is about teenagers and their place in the city in swedish literature. In the picture you can see my interpretation of the area around Stockholm city hall (lots of artistic license here).

If you are a student at Stockholm university you will soon get this in the mail. Don't miss it!
Ed by Drak-Joen
Ed! The guy who really made The Lion King to the great movie it is. Personally, I think the hyena trio too had a hakuna matata philosophy going on. Just a more ruthless (and awesome) version compared to the one Timon and Pumbaa lived after.

Nothing quite breeds procrastination like working freelance from home. Today it resulted in a collection of some good tutorials that are useful for both traditional and digital drawing/painting. Check out the collection among my favourites. There are some really talented people behind these tutorials.

I think it's easy to underestimate how much we can learn form tutorials, guides and stuff like that. I've often thought "hey, I don't need to read, I need to practice!". And it's true. But at the same time it can be a lot easier to practice with some guidelines to start from.

So, yeah. Check out a tutorial. Keep practising. And remember that it's all about doing something you love, right?
